Family can be hard to come by these days. The hectic pace of life forces us to make important choices with our time and priorities. At Valley Bible Chapel, we believe God designed the Church to be a family. We provide practical biblical teaching, fellowship and prayer support to help you and your family through the "bumps in the road."
Our desire is to make you feel at home and welcome you into the life of our church. We are conveniently located in downtown Hillsboro, have a fully-staffed nursery and are handicap-accessible.There are ministries and opportunities for all ages, including Faith Circles (home Bible studies), men's breakfasts and events, ladies' retreats and numerous childrens' activities.
Regular Services
Worship & The Lord's Supper (9:00 am)
The work of Jesus (death and resurrection) is the centerpiece of our worship time as we celebrate the Lord's Supper. We encourage your participation in this service which includes the singing of hymns and choruses, reading of Scripture, testimonies and prayer, as the Holy Spirit leads.
Teaching Service (10:00 am)
Our second service combines prayer, traditional hymns and contemporary choruses with the expositional teaching of the Bible. There may also be testimonies and reports on missions work or various ministries. A nursery is available for young children and a Junior Church is available during the sermon time for grades 1 through 6 (parents' choice).
True worship...
We believe in worship that is "24/7." True worship is a life lived for the glory of God at home, in the neighborhood, on the job as well as on Sundays. There are many opportunities during the week for you and your family to get connected with the church family and "worship" together. Check out our "Ministries" page.
Lightning Unleashed...
...is our ministry to Junior and Senior High youth. The name is taken from Job 37.3, "He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth." Mature adults head the leadership team. We have been averaging 15 or more young people. The group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00. A typical meeting begins with prayer and a Bible study, followed by games and refreshments. Other group activities include concerts, Manchester Monarch (hockey) games, Super Bowl party and retreats to Camp Berea.
Mens' Ministry
Men are not social, don't show their true feelings and have trouble relating to each other...so goes the stereotype. We know differently, because we have developed close relationships with one another on Nantucket retreats (right), monthly mens' breakfasts and through our new Men's Blog. We seek to shatter the mold our culture puts men into. Come and see for yourself!
Women's Ministry
The highlight of the year for our women is a retreat in Biddeford, Maine. This is where relationships with God and one another are deepened and we grow together in our faith. Throughout the year we enjoy a close fellowship that consists of various small groups including theme parties, informal Bible studies and breakfast fellowships.
